Our "Blowhole Bungalow" is aptly named for the migrating spouting whales that can be seen from the beautiful, open great room picture windows. And also for the naturally occurring blowhole formed in the rocky coastline just a few blocks from the house.
Just a few blocks in the other direction is a sandy beach for playing, kite flying, tide pool exploring, etc. All within easy walking distance.
The Blowhole Bungalow was designed and built in 2000 to be a welcoming, warm, comfortable and cozy escape for our family. It has been our getaway destination in all seasons of the year where we have treasured our fun and unforgettable times together, and we trust you will find that, too!

Wonderful Family getaway
The house was perfect for our family if 6, as well as the location. It was a 2 minute walk to the beach, which almost felt like a private beach, it wasn’t super busy. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely house with windows overlooking Japanese style garden with ocean beyond. Back garden opens onto a lane down to the quiet road below, just above the rocks and beach. Loved the very moving woodprints on several walls, and the multiple and diverse miniature light houses throughout the house. A gift of three days at the coast for my husband and me. .

Fun times in Yachats
Great neighborhood on the south side of the Yachats River. Easy walk to town, a nice beach even closer and good trails and ocean features, within a few miles.

Great place to stay for ocean watching
We stayed 4 days during the February King Tides. While we could see the ocean from the front room, the best view of the awesome force of the ocean was just steps away to the Yachats Ocean Road.
The house was very comfortably for our group of four, but could be comfortable for 6-8 people, with room for different activities in different areas. The bedrooms were large enough and with enough storage space to not have to trip over luggage. And there were plenty of hangers, which I appreciate.
Furnishings were comfortable to sit in and laze away the day. The heating system quickly warmed the house to a comfortable temperature, even with the window blinds open.
A lovely place to stay and we will look to go back.

Christmas holiday in Yachats
My family and I spent the Christmas holiday in Yachats, something we haven't done before. The house felt welcoming. I enjoyed my morning coffee sitting infront of a big window watching the waves crashing off in the distance. We went for walks along the ocean, over into town, and on the 804 trail. The house was clean, quiet, and in a good location. We all enjoyed the place and would book again if we return.

Yachats vacation

Great spot, plenty of nearby activities

The location of this house is ideal, about halfway between Newport and Florence (about a 35 minute drive to each), and just a few minutes from Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. And, of course, about half a block from the beach, though the shortest path does have a pretty steep downhill for about 5 yards. There was a large open living area, with plenty of space for our group, two adults and two boys. Neither bathroom is ensuite, but it worked fine for our group. The air conditioning worked well, though it was not very warm outside (65-70 degrees high for the day) during our week in August. Other reviews noted the dark spots on the leather recliner and the microwave with a non-working display and repaired cracks, and those are still there. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and there was still cabinet space for our own food. We found the house very comfortable for our stay.

Watch waves from the windows
Great accommodations for two couples. From the comfortable living room and kitchen we could see waves rolling in. The house was clean and well-appointed and in good repair. Interesting artwork, too! It was a short walk to a paved path/road along Yachats Bay, from which we could climb down to the beach. Nearby we found great hiking from Cape Perpetua Overlook, delicious seafood, and interesting shops.

Great Location in Yachats
This home is clearly built with quality materials and it's a beautiful home. The cleanliness was more an issue of stained seats of dining chairs, several carpet stains, comforter needing a wash. Some of the appliances are showing their age with regard to ease of use. The location is great. Buffered from noise from 101 and Yachats Ocean drive traffic. Good view of the ocean too. Neighbors were great. Our first night there we had an "ant" issue. Called Ocean Odyssey and they had someone there the next morning. Paul from Bill's pest control was amazing. The company followed up a couple days later to make sure everything was okay. This is why we always rent through Ocean Odyssey. They are great.

A great stay
It’s a great house in a great location and a beautiful little city by the sea. The management company was very responsive to a few glitches during the check-in process, as well as helping with the clothes washer. More instructions for the TV would be helpful. How’s that? Yeah well I don’t wanna throw shade on anybody else I say.

Great location
We had a wonderful experience. The beach is a short walk away. We saw beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day from a bench by the water. Yachats is a perfect central location to explore the central coast of Oregon.

A fantastic home

This home is in an ideal location in Yachats and has a nice view of the sea. It has a wonderful great room that’s all widows but still private and has all the amenities to make it a fantastic place to stay. Note it does not include TP, tissues, nor paper towels and they book thru VRBO.

Comfortable and spacious

When we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised at what a nice house it was. It is very open and had a good partial view of the ocean along its several west facing windows. Lots of light from windows and skylights throughout the house. Very clean and modern kitchen and bathrooms. It had a garage where we could park our car.
We had some trouble trying to figure out the television - cable - DVD operation. I called Ocean Oddysey and a guy came over and helped us understand how to navigate it.
We would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful and Perfect
My friend and I enjoyed our week at the Blowhole Bungalow. Location was great, just over the river south of town proper. Quiet neighborhood, and very close to beach access. We traveled very little once we had our “home base”. We did enjoy Cape Perpetua and a couple of beaches to the south in search of agates. We were successful! It was a beautiful home, warm & cozy atmosphere with everything a person could need. I would rent it again and highly recommend it to others. Yachats is a great town. It deserves its title as far as the Gem of the OR coast. Fun shops & eateries, so close. It was a wonderful place to get some R&R. LOVE IT!

Just what we needed. Great place for to older 2 couples.
We made our plans to go to the coast at the last minute and was lucky to find this place for 4 nights. It was just right for the four of us. The house was very clean and well equip with all you need. A very short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay here again when we plan a trip to the this area.

Very nice vacation rental!

Nicely appointed home. Well decorated, clean, and nice location. Our plans was to rent from Wed 9/8 to Wed 9/15, however we had a family emergency at home and had to check out on Saturday 9/11. We completed the checkout details before we left, calling the office to let them know we were leaving early so you could possibly rent it. There were 3 things we noticed that need to be fixed but none of them affected out stay. 1. Fan and shower light switches in bathroom closest to bedrooms doesn't work. 2. Microwave display isn't working but microwave still works -- you have to watch it. 3. We couldn't call or receive calls on our cell phones, although we understood up front that cell coverage was spotty. This did impact us because of the family emergency. All in all, a very pleasant home and we would definitely recommend.

Excellent Bungalow

The bungalow was great, bigger than we expected, the photos don't do it justice. The site says to bring your own paper products and we did, but there was toilet paper provided. Don't bother with coffee filters everyone brings them and leaves them so there are a ton. We rented last minute and I didn't feel the communication was that great, but it was a great space.

I, my wife and our daughter were all very pleased with the Blowhole Bungalow and our stay there. The home was spacious, comfortable and well supplied for our visit. The view from the living room picture windows was terrific, and we took advantage of its location to walk along the Yachats Beach Road.

Lovely spacious vacation home
My friend and I loved our 3-night stay here. Very comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, very quiet, clean, light and bright with lots of big windows but still private. Minutes to downtown. Kitchen very well supplied with pots, pans, utensils. Nice though limited view of the ocean. The only thing I would change is the arrangement of living room furniture. The sofas were in weird places. I would move the larger leather one closer to the TV (it's WAY too far away for good viewing of DVDs), and for ambiance, place the other facing the fireplace, which worked great with our Duraflame logs. Also commend Peter the Property Manager for his quick response to our trying to figure out the TV/DVD situation. Recommend explicit instructions on which of the FOUR remotes to use and how to operate! Recommend seafood at the Luna Sea Fish House and the espresso drinks are always great at the Green Salmon. Be sure to stop at the Cape Perpetua area visitors center and the Spouting Horn at Cooks Chasm just south of Yachats. Awesome!

Beautiful spacious place
This home is perfect for a celebration with a few friends. There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds (and soft cotton sheets) and there’s a den with a pullout bed. Two bathrooms and a spacious kitchen, dining table and living room. Loved it.
Complaints:
Gas grill didn’t work
Not enough TP so had to get some at store
Not enough paper towels (no back up roll)
Said they supply presto logs for fire but there were none so bought 3
Trash bin so full we could hardly fit our one bag of trash in
I called the property management company and they never gave me a call back to say they had gotten my message (listing the negatives above).
With these details taken care of this place would’ve been perfect.

Comfortable, clean getaway in Yachats
Spacious living space with ocean views (tho there are houses between you and the ocean). Yard is well kept and gardenlike, with lovely areas to sit and relax. The house is among other homes, yet feels private and tucked in. The pull-out sofa (third bed) is in a separate little den set up for movie watching. This home feels well taken care of, well loved.

We loved the open space which included the front room with a fireplace, next to the dinning area, and a spacious kitchen which overlooked it all. There was plenty of cupboards to store the groceries we purchased. The photos did not do all this space justice.There was an extra rec-room where the grandkids could escape to play, turning into their bedroom at night. We were happy with the cleanliness, and simplicity. Loved the location with a short stroll to the beach or to the cute town of Yachats. We will definitely come back in the future.

Spacious Home
This property was very spacious and welcoming. The access to the beach is really, really close. A great house for a family. The ocean is visible but there are some houses and greenery that surround it. Yachats is a great town. Also the garage is usable by the renter which is really nice.

Perfect location; perfect stay
Having lived in Yachats for 15 years, we were looking for the best rental we could find on the side of town where we had lived. This house fit the bill. It was perfectly appointed with everything needed for a relaxing stay and it is very close to Yachats Ocean Road for the beach or to town. Comfortable furniture and lots of room made for relaxing.

R & R by a blowhole
What's a blowhole? Depending on the tide, wave action makes the rocks spurt and burp in a hypnotic way. We love that, especially in yachats and more so in this beautifully landscaped, single level, spacious, quiet property situated only a short distance from the most magnificant parts of the Oregon coast. How kind of the owners to share. We hope to return.

Wonderful house close to the beach
The house exceeded our expectations. I loved the open floor plan, vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows providing a view of the ocean. Everything about the house made us feel comfortable and welcome. The beach is a very short walk from the house, in a quiet neighborhood. We will definitely stay here again on our next vacation at the coast. The "blowhole" is a rock formation on the beach that shoots water high into the air as waves wash in. It was a lot of fun to watch.

we were very happy that the rental took dogs and we made every effort to keep the house clean while he was there. we loved the house and would / will rent it again or recommend it to friends. it was centrally located and we could walk to the beach/restaurants and any other site in town. we love Yachats and plan to return.

One of most memorablde vacations we have had

This is not a bungalow to my way of thinking. It is a beautifully appointed house with all the amenities one could want. The proximity to the beach and to downtown Yachats made for many enjoyable walks. It was so very easy to go up or down the coast and be to major scenic sites within 10 to 20 minutes. This is a rental unit well worth the money. We will be back. WKC

Our whole family, including our 4 year old grandson, and our two dogs, enjoyed this vacation immensely! The house is beautiful! Love the open design. My son and grandson slept in the den which had it's own door, so it was just like another bedroom. Just a short walk to the beach and tide pools. Centrally located, we visited Newport and Florence both. Loved it!
