Amazing views and location . . .

The quirky Harry Potter "sorting hat" architecture attracted our attention as well as the amazing views from the second floor. There are two bedrooms, kitchen, living area, one bathroom and access to a glassed in deck from the second floor. The ground floor has a bedroom, bathroom, laundry room and large entertainment center arrangement. Parking is outside and there is a large fenced in back yard. Towels were top quality but improvements could be made in the outdoor furniture, the bedding linens, a torn lamp in one of the upstairs bedrooms, a rusty bbq and some very tired looking chairs. There was a Keurig coffee machine but no starter pods, a Mr. Coffee type coffee maker with no filters and no starter coffee grounds. Very few kitchen items (salt, pepper, garlic salt, wax paper, aluminum paper). Counted five forks total. Heavily booked, so maybe management hasn't taken a recent inventory or made a "to do" list. Best part was the view and the location.

Great house and great company

This place is great! the house is right on the water. tons of places to sit and watch the waves. fenced yard for dogs. was very clean. the company was amazing and went above and beyond. the kitchen has all the tools you need but no salt/oil etc so plan ahead. the location is basically the best - on the water but also walking distance to town. would 1000000% recommend and will for sure go back!!!

Great location, needs maintenance
We rented this house for the third time for the location. There are definitely pros to the house, we like the ocean view, the idea of an outdoor space with an ocean view, it’s kind of unique and Yachats is a fun little town with a community feel. The cons this time were maybe outweighing the pros. The house and especially the deck need work. One of the large glass deck windows looked like it could just fall out. The deck was dirty, the ocean view windows were dirty, the chairs were broken, the bbq and tools are in bad condition. We had to clean and sweep. I really wish houses would furnish a few basic cleaning supplies. There were broken glass string lights with a burnt plug strung across the deck. We rented the house for the view I just wish we could have enjoyed it more. The outside needs some cleaning and repair. Also the “new” couches downstairs are pretty uncomfortable. I did reach out to management about garbage day and never got an answer to my question.
Thank you for the feedback. We have addressed all items. All windows and deck glass have undergone regular maintenance and the BBQ has been replaced.

Perfect for a family or a group of friends. Nice combination of modern appointments and whimsical art, all in excellent condition. Well constructed and well kept. The window seat and the fireplace were favorite touches, among many well thought out touches. The view- AMAZING! Beautiful Beach Christmas

Perfect spot with beach views, area to walk along the cliffs. We chose it for our family vacay with adult children, so three couples. Furry family included make it perfect. The fenced area in the back yard sure is handy for the dogs quick outdoor needs. The house is eclectic and fun!! The view is spectacular. The Fireplace is a must and so cozy. I wish I had brought some christmas lights along to festive up the outdoor patio. Although the weather was mostly rainy, we had a great time, made use of the excellent home theater space and the nice kitchen table for board games. Everyone had a beautiful Christmas. 7th Wave Needs More than it's Location

Excellent location! View from the deck is amazing.
Access to property and Yachats shops, beach, is great, however, the 7th Wave has been neglected and I would not recommend it to my friends. Here are my reasons:
- First impressons: the front door has not seen paint/stain and is peeling wood. The couch next to the front door has an old sofa cushion with multiple tears - the stuffing obviously coming out.
- The fireplace hangs from the ceiling in the upstairs living area and is a huge liability. Anyone using it could easily be burned - definitely not for active children.
- One of the teflon pots had multiple layers of peeling teflon, not safe.
- Lots of plates, wine glasses but only 5 bowls.
- Kitchen 'puck' lighting undercounter not working, just a strip installed to compensate. We were a group of watercolor painters and moved a standing lamp and desk type lamp to help light our evening painting in the dining area.
- Staircase light going to 2nd floor kit/bedroom/living was out upon arrival, Ocean Odessey came right away to change it. While there, they mentioned the door to the deck from the livingroom had a wonky lock and how not to get locked outside.
The door lock was actually held together with duck tape! The window next to it must have had a broken seal (someone trying to get in the was locked out, possibly?), and had not been washed in a very long time. Could not see anything through it.
- The person who slept in the 1st floor bedroom said it was dusty upon arrival. She used the humidifier to help the musty smell, and that was most successful.
- 3 of the 6 deck chairs were unusable, as the webbing was broken.
- The pillows were either old or very cheap, they were extremely flat. Our bedspread had tears along the edging.
- Lastly, there was NO INFO book to intro us to the house, area, remotes, nothing. Downstairs TV lasted 20 minutes. Ocean Odessey said it was 'fried'.

Fantastic location and upper living area and kitchen were a great place to hang out and enjoy the view. The bedding was very worn - noticed a hole starting in a pillow case and one pillow was past using. The lower area is very dark and the property could use sprucing up all around.

Amazing get away year after year!

We have been staying in this house for 4 consecutive summers and it is just an absolute joy to return every year. The property is very well maintained and very clean. The spacious kitchen is a bonus if you like to cook good meals and the "floating" fireplace it so wonderfully retro and provides excellent warmth on chilly beach nights! We love the upstairs living quarters that look out over the Pacific Ocean and enjoy whale watching and surfers in late August. It's a quick walk to all of Yachat's wonderful attractions including local restaurants, beachside walks, the Sunday Farmers market and the glorious Cape Perpetua marine gardens. The front deck is where we spend most of out time basking in the sun, chatting with locals and just taking in the relaxing vibe of this wonderful home. You won't want to pass up an opportunity to stay here during your visit to Yachats. (Except for late August when we will return!) ��

Our family enjoyed our stay in this comfy two-story home. Separation of space meant morning people and night owls could enjoy themselves without waking others. Our dogs loved it here! Great location, right on the 804 trail and easy access to all the little village shops. If you're looking for a Pottery Barn-perfect beach cabin, keep scrolling. If you're a real family that likes to kick back and get comfy on vacation, stay here. We had a minor issue but Katie at the office was responsive and more than helpful. Great customer service. We're looking forward to returning.

We have been to Yachats many times over the past thirty and had noticed the unique home now known as the Seventh Wave on previous visits. When the opportunity arose to return to Yachats in early October, we were able to reserve it for our ten-day stay with my husband's cousin, her daughter and grandson, and our 2 1/2 year old lab /coonhound pup.
By far the most wonderful feature of the house is the glorious second story porch. Everyone was able to spend time on the porch with its unmatched view of the rocky shoreline, tide pools, and ocean waves.
The house was perfect for our group. Our first floor bedroom was spacious enough to accommodate a large dog crate. Upstairs the huge front room combining kitchen/dining/living room provided lots of room for us all to spread out, with ample seating to come together when we wanted to.
The location on Ocean View Drive is perfect for easy access to the beautiful 804 trail to the north and the equally beautiful State Park to the south. All the wonderful restaurants and shops are an easy walk from the Seventh Wave.
The house was clean, with an ample supply of towels,sheets, blankets, and pillows. The furnishings were sturdy and comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied, but we've learned that it's good to bring along your own favorite spices, and some standard utensils like a sharp knife, can opener, etc.
A few caveats:
The large hanging fireplace in the upstairs front room is an obstacle to traffic flow & using it seemed ill-advised, given its close proximity to furniture.
Little storage is available for guests' clothing--be prepared to live out of your suitcase.
A few unfinished steps from a remodel--no skirting across the lower edge of the dishwasher--small toys can drop to the floor and disappear underneath.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay, rested comfortably at night, and drank in the unforgettable sight of the endless horizon and the

Amazing Views and Great Location

Enjoyed a balmy winter weekend at The Seventh Wave which has a spectacular wall of wimdows overlooking the ocean and beach access just a short walk from the driveway. The house is cute and comfortable with good heating plus an awesome suspended fireplace in the open concept kitchen-living area. There were plenty of dishes and cooking tools-- we cooked all of our meals there. Short walk to coffee, shopping, and restaurants. Like then majority of central Oregon rentals, this house is not fancy, but beds and bedding and furniture are clean and comfortable. If you are used to Airbnbs you should know there are not any shower items like shampoo or soap provided, but they inform you of this at the time of reservation. There are a few light fixtures not working but still plenty of lighting and it doesn't create a problem. There is an awesome balcony for watching the waves roll in and a twin bed sized cushioned window nook, too. We loved this place and will stay again.

4th of July at Seventh Wave

19th 4th of July on the coast, first time at Seventh Wave. The location couldn’t be beat! Falling asleep to the waves, having a forest and amazing walking/birding trail in your backyard, and ocean sunsets was magical. Like others have said, the house definitely could use some love. While it was very clean, it was definitely rustic. If you’re looking for modern and fancy, this isn’t it but for our family of five with 2 dogs, it was perfect and we’ll be back. Kitchen was well stocked, Keurig was a nice touch, having a fenced backyard was incredible, tons of room, and having the giant TV downstairs was great for boys NBA finals watching.

Loved the charm of the house, needs updated to what it’s advertised to be, the house looks different than the ad, needed a home for easy access for elderly, had stairs that they would have tripped on alone, they were kinda stuck upstairs. Downstairs floors are very uneven. Has a backyard fenced for dogs which is nice, the view is amazing but only one window has a screen for when the sun is so bright, amazing window in kitchen to sit and watch waves, beds comfortable but the TVs in the rooms did not work or even have remotes, not important when you want to enjoy the views. Tripping hazzard on the upstairs deck, could’ve been done with holding the wind break on the roof. A great experience and family did love it all and all, but the house needs work and love, could be kept up better. Kitchen lights under cabinets need to be replaced or just taken out, looks cheap and only 2 work. After all this we really enjoyed our weekend on the deck most of the days the ocean sound is unbelievable and also the frogs at night. Do not rent if you’re extremely picky, we loved the quirks.

IDEAL LOCATION

The 7th Wave is an ideal location for us: the upstairs great room and deck have a marvelous view of the rocky coast; tide pools and ocean are just across the street. One afternoon a pod of Orcas were visible from our deck for an hour or so. We like to walk and the 804 trail goes by in front; there are nice trails and boardwalks in the marsh behind. It is only a few blocks walk to the Yachats market, restaurants and bakeries. Only if you want a sandy beach would another site be better, and there are sandy beaches about a mile away on both the north and the south.
The house is nicely arranged for two families with a pair of bedrooms and a bath upstairs behind the great room and a third bedroom, bath and laundry room below behind a family room. The beds are comfortable. There are six nice comfortable dining chairs. The electric heat works well. The wifi is pretty good. We were not into TV but there is a very large TV in the family room. The hanging fireplace is great and draws well. There are lots of kitchen devices and all the ones we used worked. We cooked most of our own meals the two weeks we were here. The floors, counters, dishes and linens were clean. Peter at Odyssey promptly returned calls when we had questions.
But the house shows the long absence of the owner. It needs a deep cleaning; the calk in the downstairs bath needs replacing; there is a blanket over one window of the north upstairs bedroom and the blind on the south upstairs bedroom is broken; most of the lights over the counter don't work.
The house is nicely arranged for two families with a pair of bedrooms and a bath upstairs behind the great room and a third bedroom, bath and laundry room below behind a family room. Beautiful location, charming home.
We had a wonderful week at Seventh Wave. The window seat in the kitchen is a great place to snooze or snuggle. It was too chilly to enjoy the deck and the downstairs never warmed up. Some of the furniture is quite worn, but the beds were comfy and overall this was a terrific stay. The fully fenced backyard was a big plus for pet owners, as were the ocean views from the large windows.

So Close You Can Feel the Spray!

You could not ask for a better location - this house is RIGHT on the edge of the beautiful rocky coastline. We fell asleep to the waves pounding against the rocks each night. We only had to step out the front door or onto the deck for the most beautiful sunsets and views. Plus, there are little secret paths leading to the wetlands behind the house and a great dog park/playground/skate park. This is a wonderful house for large family gatherings - there are many places to sleep: our youngest claimed the window-seat by the wave as his bed! The dining room table easily seats 10, and there are plenty of hang out spaces for watching movies, playing games, or simply cozying up with a good book or puzzle. The hanging fireplace was amazing on the chilly winter nights of our stay!The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking gadgets. We will absolutely be returning in the future! While in Yachats, make sure to eat at Luna Sea - they have the BEST fish and chips!

We loved our time at the Seventh Wave! We know from experience with Ocean Odyssey vacation Rentals that they are a trusted, valued company in the area. This home is perfect for ocean lovers! The large porch upstairs and the window seat were everything we came here for! The rest of the house and tons of amenities are great, but seeing and hearing the ocean 24/7 is our priority! If you are looking for a fancy landing pad, this may not be for you. But, it is clean, comfortable and inviting. A short walk gets you anywhere around this sweet town. There's even tide pools right across the street! The Farmers Market every Sunday March-October. We can't wait to return!

From the booking process to the actual rental property, the process is wonderful. They take time to care and listen about what type of rental property will work best to give your family the best experience. Great view....otherwise....meh.

Kitchen lights were out of order (7 out of ten countertop lamps were dead)....management couldn't fix, so they gave us a desk lamp! Very dark and difficult to cook. Dining tables were VERY old, worn,and some were torn! Some towel racks in the bathroom were falling off the walls. Two floor lamps were falling apart. The kitchen cabinet kickboard was loose and fell off every time the dishwasher opened. In all, this place was WAYYYY behind on basic maintenance and amenities. Generally, we were able to enjoy our vacation because of Yachats! The view, of course, was awesome, but that was about it. Everything else was barely passable. This house was once very cute and unique.....someone needs to invest in the place.

This place had a stair edge and moulding that came off upon our arrival. It's got a mooshy floor on the lower level. It's dark because every recessed lamp is damaged or has a dead bulb. The knives are dull and we can't see to cut without a headlamp. There is water damage because windows are attached but not calked. The chairs at the kitchen table look like they were collected from the curb. They are very badly torn.
The location is gold but the property owners do not love this place like we do. We have been coming for years and the shape of this place is sad. It is tiring to see this place fall apart slowly.

Fantastic Ocean View
The view of the ocean is fantastic from the kitchen, balcony, and living area upstairs. Has a wood burning stove and modern kitchen on the upper level. Lower level has a huge tv and comfortable viewing room. There is a chain link fenced area in the back, accessed through the storage/laundry room.
All in all we had a great stay, and loved the location and house. To sum up the property, I'd say it is "coastal chic"?
We stayed for an entire week the last week of October 2019. For us, it was a very pleasant place to stay, and we would stay again.
However, if you are particular about details, here are a few things to consider. This property is an older house. As others have mentioned, the lower level smells musty. Overall cleanliness of the house is pretty good, a few cobwebs on the ceiling and dirt/dust behind dressers and under beds. Because of settling, the bathroom door on the lower level does not latch very well, and the bedroom door on the lower level would not close completely. There were loose linoleum tiles in the lower level bathroom, and the shower surround needed some caulking/repair. There is a road, guard rail, and walking path between the house and the ocean. We never really looked for a way down to the beach, but we saw people looking at the tide pools, so we assumed it was close.
All in all we had a great stay, and loved the location and house. To sum up the property, I'd say it is "coastal chic"?

Fantastic location and amenities

We have wanted to stay at this house for a decade because of the swish wave/witch hat and are glad to say we weren’t let down in the least! The house has some issues - both from lack of maintenance (soft floors & musty smell downstairs) and guest disregard (broken electronics and home fixtures) - but the amenities far outweigh those flaws. We couldn’t have asked for a better view or location. Thank you for making our 21st anniversary trip amazing!

Just what we needed!

The best location and amazing ocean views. We came to run a race and the rental suited us perfectly. Everything seemed clean and organized. I would recommend one more cutting board! And we had trouble connecting our phones to the speaker to play music. But everything else was lovely and the fireplace was divine!

Great stay in Yachats

The view from this house is absolutely great. Front row seat to watch the waves attacking the rocks and the tide going out and coming back in. Ocean Odyssey is very good to do business with. Their customer service is excellent. We have been coming to Yachats for ten years and all ten years were booked through Ocean Odyssey because of the way they conduct their business. Yachats truly is the gem of the Oregon Coast.

Perfect Location

This house is well situated with a great view of the ocean. The front deck is fabulous as it has a clear wind barrier around it. The rooms are spacious. We had 5 people and a dog and there was lots of space. It is also a 3 block walk to town.
The house is old, but has some updates, the problem is it smells moldy when you first walk in. Open up windows and air it out well. There was also the smell from the sewer plant up the road every now and then when the wind shifted just right. The floor downstairs had some soft spots in the bathroom and the kitchen kickboard was completely off. Could use a bit of maintenance.

Lovely house, Ideal location

There were six of us and a dog staying at the house and we found it to be spacious and cozy. We loved being ocean front on a quiet street so we could sit out and enjoy the ocean, the stars, but still close enough to walk to the grocery or coffee shop in the morning. It's an even shorter walk to a trail that leads down to a tide pool beach.

Unbeatable view!

This house has plenty of room and the view is unbeatable. It is stocked with everything we needed. Location is great. Can walk to everything. I spent most of my time on the deck relaxing and watching waves and whales. In the evening we enjoyed a cozy fire in the hanging fire place which is located in the middle of the great room which is a large kitchen and living room. We didn’t need more by any means. It was wonderful.

Fun funky place
We really enjoyed our stay at the Seventh Wave. We really love sitting out on the deck and soaking up some sun while watching waves crash across the road. The house was well stocked. The location is perfect. The house is older and the owners have done some recent remodeling. We will be back.

SUPERB

As soon as we turned the corner and saw the house with the nice fenced backyard, we knew we were in for a treat. This place was perfect for us! More than enough sleeping/lounging space, excellent location, AMAZING view, great amenities, etc. We had such a wonderful time here (the dogs even loved it) and are talking about making an annual trip to this home. I couldn't recommend this enough. Thank you!!

Overall, I love this place. Great view and location. For the money, I would expect the mold in the downstairs bath to be cleaned up, and better towels and linens. Otherwise, it's a lovely place.

We have stayed in many rentals and this one tops the list. Cozy, great view, almost complete kitchen, fun fireplace, super deck with a view. A good place to walk the village, check out the frothy surf, hike the trails and eat.

View perfect waves from this home!

This was a lovely home, Oceanfront with only paved waterfront road between you and the crashing waves. Easy walking to scenic areas, shopping and dining. Yachats is very laid back without the crowds. The house is easy to spot with it's unique architecture, and has a wooded park behind it with walking trails as well. Yachats 804 trail is a must!!! Once the sun is down, enjoy a movie on the huge TV with surround sound. We were able to drive north to Pacific City and as far south as Shore Acres State Park, though there is much to enjoy much closer! Great galleries, gift shops, the Luna Sea Fish House has a breakfast Salmon Hash that is amazing, and Topper's has the best chocolate and ice cream! For coffee and pastry (the mango cream cheese Danish was the best I ever had) try the Green Salmon. But I have to say The 7th wave was a beautiful home base that I will stay again someday, I hope!

This is our second visit to this home. Very technologically advanced. I only wish the trees by the deck did not block the ocean view. Love the unique home, but especially Yachats and the "old town" feel. Using Ocean Odyssey is ALWAYS our first priority.
We are working on it. We have cut them back but are unable to remove them altogether yet.

Seventh heaven

We loved the Seventh Wave experience. The house is cozy and functional. I was a little worried about being next to the road, but it was quiet and mostly used by walkers. The little alcove by the kitchen was everyone's favorite spot. The owners need to remove the trees in front of the glassed in patio. They block the ocean view.
We will see what we can do about removing the trees. We do try and keep them trimmed back as much as possible.

We Love the 7th Wave!

We had our two boys with us, 7 and 11 and our little dog, and we all loved it. The house is great, the location is great. We walked everywhere and had fires in the fireplace. There's a great selection of puzzles and games. The in-home-theater is awesome! Tillicum beach, up the road was amazing, as well as the beach at the river outlet. we all had a great time.

We love the location, the layout of the house and the incredible views. Love the fireplace, but the pots and pans need to be replaced. I get that it's a rental and so there's not going to be super nice cookware, but it's time to replace, other than that it's perfect!

Very comfortable with spacious cozy feel. My favorite spot is the reading nook. I'd come back just for that sweet spot.
