Beautiful Little Red Cabin with a Glorious Ocean View

I have always wanted to stay in the Red Cabin by the Sea! I was so excited to finally stay for two wonderful weeks. We have always stayed at various places in Yachats and have had many family reunions. Staying at the Breakers was one of the most memorable experiences on the Oregon Coast!! Every morning walking the 804 trail! What a Joy the Breakers was!! We plan on staying at the Breakers many more years to come.

Third time at the Breakers
The house is cozy, and you couldn't ask for a better ocean view from both the house and yard. There was a delay in checking in because of a housekeeping issue; once that got resolved w/ the help of the Ocean Odyssey staff, our vacation really got going. We never had this problem before, and my guess is it won't happen again. This place is perfect for those who really value being at the Pacific!

This little Cabin was a Perfect getaway location for me! I almost didn't want to go home! Close enough to town to walk, but once inside I just wanted to watch the waves. A Great Getaway!

Wonderful little house with an amazing view of the ocean from almost everywhere in the house, and an even better view of the ocean from the backyard, which is about as close as you can get for a backyard. You can also walk down a little path adjacent to the house to get down on the the rocks to explore tide pools and watch the waves crash against the rocks. Perfect location if you want to spend some time Newport, as it is not very far of a drive, but there is also so many things to do right in Yachats or within the vicinity.

Overall it was great. The location could not be better. It was a perfect solo getaway. With the exception of the kitchen cupboards and the dishes, the house was very clean. Guests are responsible for washing dishes and unfortunately the guests prior to me did not do a great job cleaning the dishes so I had to rewash everything before I used it, which was a frustrating way to begin my trip. The inside of the kitchen cupboards and drawers were also overdue a cleaning. It was a little difficult to sleep in because the shades block bright sun, but not light (though the incredible view makes up for that). The property’s information binder was also not in a very visible spot, which was a minor frustration since I had to find it in order to login to the WiFi because the arrival information included the password, but not the name of the network. But I would definitely rent this house again! It’s a peaceful, comfortable and private feeling spot.

The view is incredible here. My stay was very relaxing. Everything was clean. My only recommendation would be to replace the extra leather seat in the living room with a more comfortable reading chair, like a small recliner so you can put your feet up. 🙂 I’ll definitely be back!

We have been staying at the Breakers for over 15 years and come back annually. This is our favorite place on the coast that is private, cozy and has everything we need. My wife and I stayed here for a fabulous weekend. It was the perfect size for the two of us, with an absolutely wonderful view of the ocean. The whale activity was like nothing I'd ever seen, constantly going back and forth across the view from the house. There were some great binoculars so we could get a close up view of the action! Easy walk to downtown to get some great local food. We would not hesitate to come back, and in fact plan to!

Breakers is great for a small group of 2-3 people. The big view of the ocean and ready access to the beach nearby, and proximity to Bread and Roses and the C&C Market for groceries, and the other local businesses and restaurants, make this my favorite place to go. Serenity
This is by far my favorite vacation rental for 2 in Yachats. It can sleep 2 more on the couch however this is a studio cottage, so it's all one big open room - facing the ocean. Nothing fancy, but all the amenities. The king bed is comfy, the kitchen and bathroom all have had nice upgrades. The view is absolutely spectacular, with the waves constantly crashing against the rock shelf.

Amazing Third Time Staying In This Rental Home!
It was clean, and had everything in it that I needed. The view is magnificent-you can see the ocean from every room except the bathroom! It is within walking distance of the trails, the state park, the restaurants, and even the grocery store and the shops. I love this home so much that I have its photo as my photo on my home computer’s screen! The rental company is helpful and really care about you, too!

Breakers, a cabin with an excellent view
Nice cabin/cottage. The recent remodel was done well. It is dog friendly, but there is no fence, that's normal, so we didn't take our doggies. I've since found a solution and we'll bring our goldens next time.
Great location, beach access, walking distance to town, restaurants, grocery store. Excellent unobstructed view, WiFi. We think it is the perfect cabin for two, with dogs.

Great views and ocean access
The Breakers is a little rustic, but sits a few feet above the beach and tide pools. The King size bed is very comfortable. The place is good except for the thin scratchy towels and shortage of toilet paper and tiny stove. We had a great time with our dog on the beach. Dusting and vacuuming could be more thorough (a previous guest had written in dust on top of the phone and there were dust bunnies under the desk). Otherwise, it was great and we'd come back anyway.
We state on all paperwork that we do not provide paper products.

Lovely little house, perfect for me and the two dogs. Great kitchen remodel, beautiful view. Great value. Could use a "real" TV (the one provided was monitor size) so brings down rating a bit. Glad there was a fan as the western sun can heat things up a bit.

The ultimate Oregon Coast getaway

My wife and I absolutely loved this cozy cottage. It was well appointed with everything we needed for complete comfort and convenience. The location and views are second to none, and that is no exaggeration. The wall of windows on the west face of the cottage look out on an unobstructed view of the Pacific. All of the town of Yachats is within an easy 3 or 4 block walk. There could not possibly be a better spot for a couple to enjoy the coast. Last but not least, the property management people were a pleasure to work with!

Great experience! Gorgeous view! Saw whales, seals, hermit crabs, etc...Interior was surprisingly cute! One of the window shades was broken, and the early morning sun very bright. We called maintenance, but they never responded. Overall, very cozy and affordable. Walking distance to stores and restaurants--best location on the beach!!!!

We have stayed at this cabin 3 times now and have been very satisfied. The views of the ocean and sunsets are spectacular. I only have 2 negatives. There were no kitchen towels or dish clothes and I wish there were curtains to close the windows at night for privacy. We loved the new things that were done to the cabin: new pots and pans, new carpet, new drain boards, new stove, and new refrigerator with freezer, among other things. We had a terrific time!

The location of the property was great. Right on the ocean, what a view. Walking distance to amenities in town. Close to great hikes and outdoor activity. The place was homey, quite, tranquil and relaxing. Just the right size for a couple.
Only complaint I had was that of the information in the home said to wash the windows, then squeegee to improve the enjoyment factor of the view. No squeegee was available so I contacted the management company. He suggested to just hose them off and he said "I look around for a squeegee " I felt that this was just a "blow off" to my inquiry. No follow up call to me and no squeegee showed up. Staying there for 3 night the wash off was ok but a squeegee would have been nice to capitalize on that view. On a visit to the general store on the 3rd day , what do you know they had squeegee for sale. Obviously "going the extra mile" was not in the management companies service delivery portfolio.
But the place was outstanding and we would go back.

A few hiccups this trip. But still love The Breakers.
We've been coming to the Breakers for almost ten years now. We love all the new upgrades. (New couch, carpet and kitchen.) But experienced a few hiccups with the property this trip. We found two bags of dirty laundry upon check-in, the window squeegee is missing (and on a stormy weekend like ours, the windows were covered in salt). One window shade is missing and the the North window shade is broken. Also, we had no cable tv the entire four days. We called Ocean Odyssey about it, left a message and they returned our call immediately and removed the laundry but were unable to do anything about the cable tv during our stay.
All minor hiccups, but worth mentioning for repairs. We hope to return to The Breakers again soon!

I don't really want to tell anyone about this place. The more folks who know...the harder it may be to rent in the future. Waves that vibrate the house like a freight train? Yes. Every freaking time. I will be back....

24th anniversary trip

This was our second time staying in one of ocean odyssey's rental properties. This was the perfect little house for the two of us to celebrate our anniversary in. Very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The view is unbelievable, on our last full day, there was a storm that we got to see right from the house. We will definitely be back.
The owners just completed some upgrades too. New photos are on the website.

Classic Beach Cottage

This is a charming vintage cottage on a bluff, the kind of place your Great Aunt Pearl owned in the 1970s. It even smells the same. Bed very firm and comfortable and nice couch, too.
Towels (bath and kitchen) were not included. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but we ended up having to buy some in town.
