The Blue Bird Cottage has 2 bedrooms plus a loft, 1.5 bathrooms and a fireplace in the living room for those cozy evenings. This is one of the coziest homes and best locations on the Oregon coast!

Wonderful views to relax

We stayed at blue bird cottage for the first time in October. The house is very clean and cozy. The place is pretty well equipped and the downstairs bathroom is great. The kitchen was definitely workable . The front fenced off area was great for the dog and the beds slept very comfortably. Loved the back deck and views are awesome. The only problem we had was the tile floor in the kitchen. A couple of them aren’t quite level and I tripped on them and face planted and cut my lip. I’m only adding this because I want people to be aware of it. Otherwise, we’re definitely going to try to stay again.

Best little cottage on the coast!

We have been staying at this cottage every year for many years. It's the perfect location to stay. The house is very well kept.Its always clean when we arrive. It has all the amenities you need. You can even look out of the upstairs window and see the spout of a whale or two, along with seals swimming by. Only a few steps down from the deck and you're on the beach. I love it. Can't wait until next year!

Perfectly accomodated our family beach vacation

I will state first that my priority was the beach, not the house. I can understand if someone is renting a home in the woods in the winter for Thanksgiving with family, that the luxury of the house would play an important role, but some reviews I've read for classic beach cabins show that too many people just want it all, all the time. Well, you can have that, but trust me, you'll pay for it. The Blue Bird gave us a private deck, literally steps away from a virtually private beach, with ample parking, separate sleeping areas, view facing windows and sliding doors, and cozy indoor sitting areas, all for what I would have paid for ****** hotel rooms for 4 people, sharing rooms, etc. I will admit that I am not picky, I'm not a germaphobe, and I am most certainly NOT a chef. So yes, the house has some slight drawbacks that didn't really bother me. The kitchen is tiny and a little bit of a juggle for food prep, the queen murphy bed downstairs was like a big marshmallow that swallowed me into the middle, but my wife wasn't with us on this trip so it was fine for just me. And yeah, the whole place is the exact same amount of run down you would expect from a classic 1970s era beach cabin. The description does in fact call it a "cottage", and I agree. I wasn't looking for fancy or luxurious. The pictures looked shabby chic, and that's exactly how we found it. On the upsides, communication from the rental company was excelllent throughout, the shower is awesome, and the hot water did not disappoint, there were ample towels, sheets and blankets, dish soap, and laundry detergent. But the deck, oh my did my daughters and I enjoy it. We did not eat a single meal indoors over our stay. When it was rainy we pulled chairs in front of the open sliding glass doors. The only thing I would change would be to move the highway about 500 yards to the east, and of course that's not the house's fault. If I need a beach cabin again, the Blue Bird makes the list.

This was my second stay at Bluebird Cottage! It felt like coming home, cozy clean and affordable. If you get a chance to stay here take it! Centrally located, but hey what's better than listening to the surf 24 hours a day. Waking up to a beautiful beach everyday, driving the scenic PCH does it get any better?

Blue Bird Cottage is a wonderful place
We rented this property for five nights last week for our second annual trip to the Oregon Coast. Weather was touch and go but the cottage was a great respite when weather prevented outdoor activities. We were without WiFi when we checked in on Saturday night and the problem was resolved on Sunday morning with the help of the property management company. Bravo for the timely response.

Excellent Upgrade!
We had originally rented another property only to discover the hot water heater was broken. Management responded promptly and moved us to this adorable cottage for the remainder of our stay. The pictures don't do it justice. The cabin is absolutely adorable and was perfect for me and two teenagers. They have earned life-long repeat business from my family and I'm singing praises to anyone who will listen.

A Real Beachy Stay

The cottage is everything a beach cottage should be. The beaches are wide and great for walks, the interior decorating full of the colors and knickknacks one would expect and want and the two towns near, Waldport and Yachats were interesting and had some great restaurants. It was peaceful as we watched the ocean change moods every 15 minutes and then grandly finish off with stunning sunsets.

It’s all about the view

Bluebird is a lovely cottage right on the beach. What a spectacular view from a very nice deck plus your own private, well constructed stairs to the wonderful big stump beach. You can relax in bed and watch the ocean. The cottage itself is very nicely furnished, kitchen adequately stocked. TVs in every bedroom plus the living room, if that’s your thing. I had a lovely stay.

I had a wonderful experience at Blue Bird Cottage. I wish I had longer to stay! The cottage is charming and has everything I need, and the location on the beach is just perfect. It was a little bit hard to find, and I drove past it a couple of times, but that doesn't bother me. There is no delivery to be had, so make sure to bring your food and snacks, or be prepared to drive to Waldport or Yachats.

Cozy cottage right on the beach. We have stayed here a few times now. Love the proximity to Waldport and Yachats. My only suggestion would be to have salt and pepper available as well as a can opener in the kitchen. Also, the white towels could use a good bleach, the washcloths in particular are more light beige then white. Overall, fairly clean for a home on the beach that does allow dogs. We plan to stay again.

BB cottage at Waldport
Instructions under "Things to Bring" listed Firewood. We purchased a box of firewood at the grocery store in Yachats but discovered on arrival at the cottage that there was a gas fireplace. The WiFi instructions were not clear, as well as for the TV usage. It did not appear as clean as perceived, but that may have been due to the age of the place. The lock on the diningroom sliding door required some manueuvering to work. Could use some hooks for hanging clothing and bars for wet towels. A very cute house and right off the beach, which we enjoyed.

The property was exactly as described, the location was phenomenal. Having the washer and dryer was a nice convenience. Beds were comfortable, and the area was quite. We enjoyed traveling around the area during the day especially to Yachats, it was an easy drive to local sightseeing points of interest. The location to the beach allows one to walk out the back door, sip coffee on the deck while taking in the amazing view, then down the stairs for a lovely walk on the beach. The BBC is the cutes place with steps right to the open, spacious beach!! There was one slight bedding issue, however, and when I called the property manager he not only was very apologetic, he went to Fred Meyer himself and bought a brand new Sherpa comforter and sheet set and delivered them to us with in the hour! He also cleaned up the trash that blew out of the trash bin that the garbage company failed to pick up! He was the very best that customer service represents and he is the reason this place is so efficient and kept so nice! He was our hero for sure!! Th Blue Bird Cottage is the epitome that of a great and relaxing escape!

Great beachfront cabin

We had an amazing week at this cute little beachfront cabin! The loft with 2 separate areas was perfect for our 10 and 15 year old, and it was pet friendly so we could bring our little rescue pup and he loved the beach! It was close to other towns but the house itself and beach was quiet and relaxing! House was well kept and had all the necessities! Would definitely stay here again!

Spectacular Blue Bird Cottage

This cottage was amazing. We were visiting from Alabama and not familiar with the area. The mysterious Big Stump was just a short walk on the beach. The beautiful Pacific Ocean just outside the back door. The cottage was very clean and taken care of. Everything was labeled so it was easy to use the heat, TV and other features. Always love staying here. Excellent location. We really like the place. Best little cottage we’ve stayed in over the past 10 years of coming to the Central Coast. Love the views and the deck. Easy access to beach. Saw wales and seals right from deck. Quiet beach. Plenty of room for the two of us inside. Dogs enjoy the fenced in front and with a baby gate and a small section of plastic fencing the back becomes enclosed for small dogs anyway. Thank you. Recommendations: 1. A deep cleaning of the floors. 2. Replace the shower ceiling fan cover immediately - awfully dirty. 3. Shower could use a curtain of sorts. That’s it. Will be back next year.

Vacation at Blue Bird Cottage
I rented the blue bird cottage for my children and I after reading multiple reviews about the location. The cottage exceeded our expectations and was absolutely amazing! It was clean, great condition, provided all of the amenities that we needed and the location couldn't have been better. Dinner every night on the deck watching the sunset while the kids played in the sand. It doesn't get much better than this location. We will be back and will recommend this place to family and friends

Blue Bird Cottage is our home away from home on the Coast
We have now stayed at Blue Bird Cottage (BBC) five times. The first four times were before the Cottage was extensively remodeled & updated. Even before the remodeling, we adored our stays at BBC. The oceanfront location, short distance from both Yachats & Waldport, layout of the house, & management company (Ocean Odyssey) were ideal for our needs & desires.
We recently stayed at BBC for 7 nights & were delighted by the remodeling! Specifically, the loft (which previously had a low ceiling) was redone so that even the tallest of us could stand up in the room. The master bedroom now had a Murphy bed with a TempurPedic mattress. We loved being able to put the bed up during the day. We love the new carpeting and new furniture--including a beautiful new sleeper sofa in the living room, new kitchen table & chairs, new Lazy Boy recliners. The owners added a dishwasher--thank you! Lights and dishes/glasses were replaced and brand new. (I personally took pride in seeing that the old-fashioned colander I purchased about 7 years ago is still with the kitchen supplies--thank you for keeping it!)There are now lots of skillets and pans. Outside are flagstones and a wash-off hose (for sandy feet from the beach, which is mere steps away).
We do have one important suggestion. BBC needs screens on the upstairs bedroom window, and on both sliding doors. We love hearing the sound of the ocean the entire time we're there, and without screens were unable to do that. Ocean Odyssey (Wendy and Eric) were terrific in resolving the bedroom screen window right away. We would have liked to have screens on the two sliding doors, too. We hope Ralph and Jo install these. Previously (several years ago), the doors had screens though of course the doors stuck and came off the frames.

Loved it!
Very cute and clean. We loved being able to walk out the back door and right down to the beach. The view from the deck was great.

Charming little cottage

We throughly enjoyed this little house. The small size is surpassed by the wonderful ocean views and beach access. Nicely updated with beautiful pine wood work throughout the cottage. If staying more than a couple of days bring your own paper products. Parking can be a challenge if a lot of people staying at other homes nearby. Clean and cozy. We would recommend this home.

Fabulous little spot. Walk right onto the beach. Newly updated, nice walk-in shower, and some big TVs. Adequate parking, easy to find, and convenient to Waldport. The kitchen equipment was barely adequate, and could use some new pots and pans, utensils, etc. So if you're a foodie, bring your own, as well as some good knives. The house is part of a row of houses, which are all very close together, which was impossible to tell from the photos but a non issue, since there was no crowd in February. Loved the little place though, and plan to return. Close to the road, but close enough to the surf to drown in out. Great view from the deck. Brand new BBQ.
We will talk with the owner about putting in some new kitchen essentials. Thank you!

Clean, Quiet Retreat on the Beach
This cabin is on one of the prettiest stretches of beach in Oregon. We affectionately called it the "all you need" cabin, as it provided just enough of what we needed in a beach getaway. The perfect size for our family of three, plus pooch. I would recommend it to families looking for a simple getaway on a beautiful stretch of Oregon landscape.
January 14, 2009 - Escapia
Great winter stay
Blue Bird Cottage is a very nicely equipped cottage with direct access to the beach. Great views, comfy beds, wonderful brick fireplace, a kitchen with most everything you need. It is also close to Waldport and Yachats, Cape Perpetua for some good exploring. It is close to the other cottages on each side. During the busy months, I am sure that if you use the deck area, you will be making new friends. We hope to be back.
