Watercolors is a beautiful and spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bath oceanfront home with gorgeous Pacific Ocean views from all rooms and space for the whole family. It is a great place to reconnect and make memories! Whether you want to cook in the gourmet kitchen, play games or just lounge, this is the place. Maybe you prefer to be outdoors? You can hang out by the built-in firepit or play on the spacious lawn, all while listening to the waves and watching the everchanging colors of the ocean. The home sits on a 20 foot bluff with easy beach access via a pretty wooded path just a block away. The Oregon coast is perfect for beachcombing, building sandcastles, flying kites or making forts out of driftwood.
To the North you can explore the wonders of Newport. Take a tour of the Oregon Coast Aquarium or the Hatfield Marine Science Center. Explore the shops and taste the food on the Historic Bayfront or the Historic Nye Beach area.
To the south you can take in the gorgeous scenery of Cape Perpetua and the many trails. Stop by Cooks Chasm for a look at Thor’s Well. The drive to Florence is breathtaking with great places to stop and explore. Go Agate Hunting at Bob’s Creek or Strawberry Hill. Take a tour of the most photographed Lighthouse in the world at Heceta Head. Take the elevator 600 ft. down into the largest natural Sea Lions Cave. Beautiful location!
The house is in a great location. Large kitchen, two separate living spaces and the beds were very comfy. It was big enough for the whole family. Driveway is narrow and has big potholes, but it was easy to find. We had to look for the trail to get to the beach, which is on the north side of the house (by the hot tub), through the bushes and use the steps at the motel next door. Easy access and beautiful beach when the tide was out. We were notified a few weeks before our stay that the hot tub stopped working. Ocean Odyssey was very nice about it and tried keeping an eye out for another place, but it was during the holidays, so we understand things happen. But we did miss not having a hot tub. They did give us a discount because of the hot tub not working. It all worked out for us and we really enjoyed this house! I would defiantly come back and stay here again.

Beautiful View!

The house is large and has lots of space! The view of the ocean is beautiful and beach access is close. The place could use some updates of new towels, beds, cookware. Also the cleaning was mediocre, curtains were very dusty and overall not super clean. But stay was overall good.

Lovely Ocean Views from the Property
The home sits on a lovely location. Ocean views from the family room; dining/kitchen area; and upstairs balcony are excellent.
The property manager was very responsive to a Wi-Fi problem and minor house maintenance issues.
The house is spacious for our party of 6.
Routine cleaning needs attention as the main level guest bathroom shower had sand and hair in the drain.
Overall, a deep cleaning is needed as the stairway handrails and kitchen cabinets were sticky.
Linens are worn and should be replaced.
Bed mattresses are very soft in the middle and do not provide adequate back support.
There is a lovely dining table for 8; but only 5 chairs are provided.
A full set of kitchen cookware is needed. There are only two large skillets but no medium or small skillets. There were two or three pans; but a better size selection is needed.
Also, there is no bakeware like cake pans nor cookie sheets.
Beach access is good. It is about a 5-minute walk along a gravel road with 4 houses and 2 of them are under construction.
The house is a few miles between Waldport and Yachats so dining locations; shops; and grocery stores are nearby.
I was surprised that the street off the highway is a one-lane gravel road; but that appears to be common for that area.
We enjoyed our long birthday weekend with walks along the beach. We were fortunate to bring along a couple of cake pans to bake a cake.

House is amazing!
The house was amazing! Plenty of room and the views were spectacular. It would have been nice if there was direct access to the beach. There needs to be a staircase on the property. We did find dirty dishes in the dishwasher and some in the cupboards. The front door lock sticks when it is cold. Didn't realize the key fits the back door also until we left. Having the washer and drier was a plus as was the hot tub! Good location too. Will definitely stay here again!

Not what I expected
My rental that I had put a lot of thought into was changed to this property two days before and I was notified as I arrived in Portland. While I was offered an extra day for free, airline tickets and travel plans are not so easily changed. It was larger than my first choice (nice)but the location was not in the town of Yachats as the other was. The yard was recently dug up (so more dirt than grass) and the road to the property was a bit rough. Bedding upstairs was a bit tired, rugs and furniture well used. Doors upstairs dingy and in need of fresh paint. I wish I would’ve had more notice and more choices. Being that I was visiting family and starting a vacation the last thing I wanted to do was argue. Disappointed that I was given no reason for the change. Other than an extra day I could not use no other compensation, communication or apologies were offered.

Mixed Feelings

We arrived at our rental, as instructed, after 4:00pm. The lockbox was empty. No key. I called, emailed, and texted - no response. I pulled up an old email w/ a named person and called her. The boss just found out, was going for the extra key and would be there soon. 25 mins. later he arrives - no key, thinks he can jimmy the door with screwdriver- even a dead bolt...I ask for a refund and we'll get lodging in Newport. He then offers another house - the one in the picture here - it's bigger. That's cool. But it hadn't been serviced in awhile. Few towels, we almost ran out of toilet paper (and we were only 5 in a house for over 8. The table cloth was stained. We just removed it. There were dishes in the washer. The road into the rental was pocked w/ deep mud holes and the first time in I bottomed my car several times. We had to learn to skirt those holes for the duration. So, while the manager tried to make things right, it wasn't a perfect stay.

Fantastic Oceanside Retreat

The Watercolors house is a great weekend getaway. The view from the main room attached to the kitchen is fantastic. There are four individual sleeping rooms that can easily accommodate the 8-person occupancy. The kitchen has plenty of space to cook or host cocktails. Overall one of our favorite places on the Oregon coast.

Dust and other debris under beds. Family room television dysfunctional. Figuring out the light switches is a Challenge. Could use more frying pans, smaller food strainer.
Over all we managed and had a good time.

Family Beach Getaway

Spectacular location. Views were stellar. The beach is my happy place so I took Amy daughter and her 3 kids. The beach was amazing It felt like our own private oasis. Not many people around. It was scary getting to the beach the first two days u til I called Monday to ask about it. The house had so much room. The kitchen was big enough for my granddaughter and I to cook together. Being foodies that important. The others could still interact as it’s an open concept. 3 bathrooms was a plus. The beds were all comfortable. The room with the 4 beds needs mattresses really cleaned or replaced. The sectional. Same. They allow pets and I thank them. My dog had a wonderful time. The sectional had a huge stain from a big dog. It’s too nice of a home for that. Oh I would give the driveway a 1. Both my daughter and I have Subaru sedans and it was very difficult to avoid the huge potholes. In all it was great. I would rent this house again. Plenty of room outside too. Very secluded with many trees on both sides.

We loved our experience! The privacy was awesome! We could sit in the yard, patio or hot tub without passers bye. The house was roomy. We had everything we needed. The path to the beach was tricky for us to find but after a few phone calls, we were able to figure it out. The staff was so patient with us and even offered to send someone over to show us. It’s the second telephone pole, by the way. 😉
We were close to Yachats and Newport for shopping and dinners. We were there end Oct and the beach activity was pretty quiet. We had the beach to ourselves a few times.
The view and the sounds of the waves!!! That was amazing! The Hot tub overlooking the ocean.. so sweet. The breaker tripped and they had someone right over to fix it. And the tub was hot fast.
Feedback- deep clean is needed. A spruce up with paint and replace the couches. They were sandy and worn, we covered them with blankets. And better pictures. There was a draw for us to this space, better photos would have been nice.
On the cleanliness and maintenance. A three because of the heavy dust and we moved a couch and it was soooo gross under there. Please deep clean this amazing property. The grounds are well maintained.
And a four for the furniture- the couches need replaced. The beds were decent.

The house was in such a beautiful spot. It had plenty of room for everything my family needed. It is centrally located for plenty of things to do either direction. Other than a few lights that were out everything was good with the house. My family and I would definitely stay there again in the future.

Pro: Peter provided us with new bedsheets within the hour and comped us a bit for the inconvenience
Con: Shower knob in downstairs bathroom broke, Peter could not get someone to fix it by the time we left leaving us with only a single bathroom with shower(which does not have a lock btw). We were able to jerry rig it eventually ourself.
Pro: Peter comped us a bit for the inconvenience.
Cons: (None of these are deal breakers but does degrade the experience. We decided not to reach out to Peter for these minor things) No lock in restroom, no access to beach, outdated TV and AV system, TV in the kitchen/dining area stopped working, Some lights don't work

Beautiful view!
It is a very spacious house with a wonderful view of the ocean. We all had our own space with quiet bedrooms and loved the bathrooms and kitchen. The one disappointment was the main couch. It was very old and worn out and not very comfortable so we sat on the others. Overall a good place for a large group.

Amazing view!.

We had a small group but plenty of space, especially in the large kitchen area! The view is amazing and the best part! The home is older and needs some love. Sliding glass door on the back right was very hard to get locked, screen door upstairs to the balcony was super hard to unlock, pots & pans to cook with are really old and need to be replaced, shower upstairs has a loud and big drip when you use it and there's a lot of touching up that needs to be taken care of all over. I also wish beach access was easier, we never found any access and had to drive to a beach if we wanted to go down onto the sand. Also, be warned, the driveway in is SUPER bad! If you don't have a truck or SUV the holes are deep and a few of our cars bottomed out on some of the holes. Other then that we enjoyed our stay and the amazing views!

Lovely Holiday Vacation
The house looked beautiful online but was even better in person. Seven of us all fit comfortably with room to spare! The view from the big windows of the glorious and magnificent ocean could not be beat. I would definitely recommend this place and plan on returning ourselves!

A great getaway for our whole family.

This is the 3rd rental home we have used from Ocean Odyssey and each trip has met the needs of our group. This time, we were staying with 3 generations of family in this home, and it gave us the perfect balance of efficiency, privacy, and location for the activities we were enjoying in Yachats. We could come together for a meals and a movie and then venture out to hiking trails, the beach, the tide pools, or into town for Pokemon hunting (yes, we thought about requesting the totem poll become a PokeStop, lol). Long hikes followed by a dip in the hot tub, plenty of kitchen room for big dinners (although a bigger table to fit all of us would have been nice, but they do have bar stools and folding tables to make up for it), and 4 rooms so we all had what we needed for sleeping arrangements. Could also use a new BBQ, it's cheap and rusting through, that being said Ocean Odyssey was prompt about getting us a replacement gas tank when the one on site had a broken knob. Highly recommend this home and will use again.

We had a great time. Contact with property management was easy. The home needs a deep clean. We had to sweep/vacuum and replace lightbulbs which wasn’t to big of a deal but we did have babies that found little pieces of game boards and lots of garbage under furniture. The hot tub was a huge hit with the kids and adults. Overall, it was a very nice place and accommodated my family nicely.

Pleasant escape

We went for my wife's birthday and celebration of life for her parents. Upon arrival we were a little concerned of the homeless encampment right as you turned on Texas. However, we received no issues from the residents there.
Once we went inside we were pleasantly surprised with the size of the house. It was larger than what the pictures lead on. Which was very nice. The kitchen was perfect for the meals/ gatherings and the rooms were cozy and nice. The hot tub was lovely and the the fire pit was a nice touch for the kids to roast smores.
Sadly there were a few things that did put a little bit of a damper on the stay.
- We did notice while doing the dishes that the sink was leaking pretty bad and a pot was placed under the pipes to catch the water. It seemed as it was happening for awhile as the water damage was pretty extensive. We called odyssey and was informed that they would reach out once they got a hold of someone to fix it. We never got that call.
-The electronics are very dated and did not work correctly. That was a little frustrating for the kiddos at night.
-The yard was very spacious, but the 20 to 30 ft drop off was concerning.
-The beach access was not exactly kid friendly, the rope tied to the tree to get down with the exposed broken PVC pipe was not exactly what would be considered OSHA approved. We did find another way down through the neighboring property. They were pretty gracious despite it being private property.
-Additionally, a friendly suggestion would be to have cleaning products at the rental or at least suggest to have the renter bring some. We went and bought some to clean as we went during our stay.
Overall, we did enjoy our time. It really is a beautiful house and location. We do plan on returning. These are just suggestions we hope are taken into consideration.

Girls Weekend

There were 7 of us that needed a weekend away. Our stay was great. This was my 2nd time at staying at Watercolors. There was ample room, a great table and gathering area in kitchen for food, games and visiting. We used the hot tub, walked the beach, and enjoyed the firepit and had adequate sleeping space.
There was a person living in their car with a lot of garbage just before the house. We made sure that everything was locked (the patio door lock was very difficult to get to work). The customer service was fantastic. We didn't go to any restaurants due to COVID restrictions.

This house had the potential to be amazing. What it seemed like,was a tired worn out party house though. What looked like a once well maintained cared for house is now falling apart. A deep cleaning by a professional cleaning company is seriously needed. The dishes were grimy from a dishwasher that was a clogged with food, there were layers of dust on everything, we had to buy vinegar to clean the coffee pot so it would (sort of) work. The couches were grimy, the floors weren’t swept well, the carpet upstairs filthy. Blankets were tossed inside of closets and drawers unfolded and haphazard.I can go on but I am sure you get the picture. This house needs a serious deep cleaning before it is rented out again.

Great, family friendly rental

This was our second time staying at Watercolors and we loved it! The house is big and the layout is great to accommodate space and separation for everyone. The view is beautiful, and the yard space is such a nice complement to the beach. Unfortunately, there are some drawbacks: the home could use some general maintenance (non-working light fixtures, etc) and better cleaning (thorough vacuuming, surface cleaning). This place is such a gem, and some small improvements and better cleaning would make it so much better.

The house was the perfect size and plenty of beds, all comfortable. At first the coffee maker didnt work, but they brought us a new one by morning. The lock on the front door was broken and a locksmith fixed that the only thing left was the TV didn't work, luckily our group was there for scrapbooking and visiting so we didn't care. Honeslty the only thing that bothered us the most and was surprised with was how cluttered and dusty it was. the bathrooms and kitchen (except inside cupboards) were clean so it was fine but we felt that the whole house just need a good ceiling to floor washing.

Wonderful family home

This home was wonderful for our large family to experience. We absolutely loved the way the kitchen and dining area is set up with the couch too. Would recommend a short chain link fence should be put in front of the bluff as it was scary with little ones playing in the yard. But overall experience was great with the agency they were super! Will return!!

Great location!

3 families, 6 kids. Had a ball on the beach. Sand toys from the garage was a plus. Hot tub was also a plus. Mostly well stocked kitchen although no complete set of measuring cups/spoons, no cookie sheets or a garlic press. WIFI was great! House gets warm in the afternoon sun, more fans would help, especially in the kitchen as we were unable to get the ceiling fan to work. The two little windows in the kitchen window box don't provide much cross breeze to help cool things down. The upstairs bedrooms get really warm in the afternoon and the door to the deck off the bedroom and the window in the kids bedroom don't provide much airflow so more fans up there would help. Unable to use the TVs as there were no instructions for how to to turn them on and get connected to cable, we tried everything we could think of to no avail. Grill was filthy so we spent quite awhile trying to get it cleaned before we could use it.

Great view

The house was very roomy. The kitchen was full of pots and pans. The floor to ceiling windows were wonderful. We had a great time at this house. One downside was the lighting. Not enough lights, lighting was too dim and burnt out bulbs. The cabinets in the kitchen are all black along with a lot of the walls painted black which counteracted any of the poor lighting that we had. The first thing we did when we arrived was work on all the kitchen chairs that were so wobbly we were sure they were going to break. It helped a little bit but they were still pretty bad. Otherwise it was a wonderful place and the dogs had a great time

Fantastic Oregon Beachhouse
Stunning ocean views in a clean and comfortable home big enough for friends and family. Watercolors had all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. Ocean Odyssey was very accommodating and helpful. I would highly recommend this property.

Home needs a deep clean
We had a nice time, but dishes were not all clean even though they had been put away, and drawers and cupboards were dirty. Kitchen table and chairs are kind of beat up and dresser in one downstairs bedroom bureau is missing a drawer. House has a nice layout and we were comfortable. Thanks.

2019 Family Beach Trip
Fantastic time in a roomy house suitable for our group of six adults and four children. The beach front location has a beautiful ocean view perched above the the sparsely populated sand. The large front yard provided an excellent play area for our grandchildren. The consensus among the group was this place is definitely on the list for a return visit.

Great Layout and Tons of Space

Our family of three stayed here with another family of 4 the week of June 16th. The house is big and spacious and the view is amazing. The layout worked great for both families (one family up and one family down) and we had a good time. The property owners could do some updating and some maintenance to the house especially for the price. Also, steps down to the beach from the house would be amazing. Ocean Odyssey was awesome to work with once again! We probably wouldn't rent this particular house again but will definitely be renting through Ocean Odyssey again!

Wonderful property for family or a group

This property was exactly as advertised and we were incredibly happy and satisfied with our stay. We were a group of nine friends and this house was in a secluded pocket right above the beach with a short, easy walk to access the beach. The yard and hot tub were well cared for and the house was in full working order, clean, and had plenty of beds and seating (inside and out) for our group. The only hiccup we had was that some of the towels were away in a drawer so at first it seemed we didn’t have enough towels for our group, though we eventually found more. They just weren’t in an intuitive spot. Otherwise, this place was literally a dream, with very easy check-out, and we all hope to return! It was truly a delight to stay here!

Private oasis

The house and property are both great. We enjoyed the privacy and ability to be indoors and outdoors as a group without bothering neighbors. Plenty of parking. The home has many updated features making it easy to enjoy. The kitchen could be better organized and stocked for those who enjoy cooking. Missing odd items like a cutting board. This group has stayed in about ten homes in the Yachats area and we consider this one of our favorites.

Weekend Away
We had a very nice time. House is only house on the street where it sits. It is very private and secluded. House needs to be dusted a little better. The email of things to bring said we needed to bring #4 cone filters for the coffee pot, this was wrong. It took normal filters and there were two bags there already. Not a huge deal but kind of annoying. Some stairs on the property down to the beach would make this rental even better.

Beachside getaway

The home is in a beautiful location. We loved looking out the huge windows to see the ocean. The house has plenty of room for the ten of us that stayed there. The kitchen is large and easy for multiple people to be in the kitchen. The door upstairs doesn’t seal well and there were strong cold winds that came in and made the upstairs cold. Other than that the stay was great.

We enjoyed Watercolors. The views of the ocean were great. Access to the beach was a little walk away. The staff was responsive when we had a problem with the hot tub, even on a holiday. The house was spacious enough for our two families.

Late Fall reunion.

Great view of the ocean and close to numerous beaches yachats and Waldport. House was dusty, dust bunnies on ceiling fan. Some dishes put away dirty. Pellet stove was broken. More attention to cleaning and this okace would be 5 stars. Also bring your own portable music system. Bose or something like that. Their system is a mismash of TV, receiver, other componets requiring the use of 3 controllers to operate. We were unable to get any music to play worth listening to. Managment team was very responsive when asked to bring a propane tank fot the grill. We had a great reunion, lots of great beachs to explore.

African Paradise
The beach house was perfect for our father's day celebration. Myself and 2 sons with family. Rooms were cute and the little kids loved sleeping together in the boat beds and using the hot tub. Yachuts was fun city, New Port Aquarium was the highlight of our trip and the arrangment of the rooms allowed quiet talks, family TV and other space for board games. It was just comfortable and perfect.

The location and view was terrific. The house was nice but the oven did not heat properly. We only got to use the hot tub once as it would not maintain the temperature. I would suggest that you replace the mattresses on the queen beds.

The house and location were just amazing! Very very nice place to stay. Felt like home away from home! The only thing I would suggest to update would be the hot tub - the radio is kinda strange on it. And the entertainment system in the living room - we coudln't figure out how to make it work, and my husband works for dish network. So if he can't figure it out, it's not easy! Overall, great stay great house.

Beautiful home!

Our family (husband, wife, five kids under 8) stayed at the Dream Escape with my parents. There was more than enough room, and our kids LOVED the boat beds! The home was clean and the view was amazing. The only downside to this home is that there is not direct beach access. From the looks of the photos, you might think that it would be quick to get to the beach. There is a vertical cliff at the edge of the yard that doesn't have stairs down. Just to the left of the property there is an unkept trail that was too dangerous to use for kids or elderly people. You have to walk down about a block to the public access trail. The beach was gorgeous and really pretty quiet compared to other towns. Overall, we had a really great time with lots of good memories made! Our only suggestions for improvement were - better beach access, more wash cloths & hand towels, replacement dice for the games there, and some Gladware in the kitchen for leftover food. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Wonderful Escape for our Family

Every year my family Mom and Dad ages 70 +, my great aunt, myself husband and daughter, sister husband and son, another sister a cousin and her son all go to the beach for a week. This year we stayed at the Dream Escape. It was the perfect house for our large group. Having two family room type areas was wonderful the kids could hang out in one without bothering the adults by being kids and we all fit in the kitchen/dinning room/family room to play games, eat meals and visit. The yard is beautiful the fire pit was fun and the hot tub was a treat. The layout of the house made it so everyone could sleep in the environment they were used to. The big windows were a great way to admire the view on those inevitable cold windy days and I sat for hours watching the surf. It was a great vacation house for us.

2013 Family Beach Vacation

Although the decoration of the house in "everything African" was a bit over the top, we enjoyed the layout of the house very much. Our group included basically three families, the layout was well suited to the privacy of each group. The family (kitchen/dining room/TV area) room is super for eating, visiting, etc., all while looking at the surf below! We enjoyed our stay and would come again.
The following may sound like some negatives, but I offer them for consideration for future improvement:
1. Beach access: A stairway directly off the property would be great, especially with small kids.
2. Installing a short (say 30") fence along the lip of the beach cliff would ease the minds of parents of small children.
3. The Wi-Fi was great so we coped nicely, but the cable channel selection was dismal.
4. We eventually got used to the layout of the MBR, but not before we bumped our heads on the sloping ceiling and getting pinched getting into and out of the shower.
The following may sound like some negatives, but I offer them for consideration for future improvement:
