This cozy yet spacious home has been thoughtfully furnished to accommodate all guests. Those with mobility issues will appreciate the wheelchair ramp to the front door, large open rooms, shower chair and grab bars, low pile carpet, and wide doorways that ease the way through the house and outdoor spaces. Families will find puzzles, DVDs, water toys and sand pails to keep young guests entertained; lots of table space for games and crafts; and a pack’n’play for babies and toddlers. Always enjoyable

Been coming to this house since 2014? New owners but same great house. Always enjoy seeing what’s new. Love the new fireplace, fenced backyard, counter tops, painted cabinets and deck chairs. Originally came because it was great for my dad, it being handicap friendly. Great house even if that’s not a need. Look forward to the next visit.

We had such a wonderful time. The house is so happily situated! Such easy access to the beach with beautiful views of the sea and many great trails to explore. . The kitchen is so well stocked with excellent quality pans etc. and many spices etc. a joy to cook in! The beds were so comfortable and cozy.we woudl love to return!

Pup friendly with ocean view

Nice fenced yard with mowed grass and wrap around porch to include our dogs. The Ocean views Between the houses up front Is decent with a short walk to the beach. The beach isn’t usually crowded.

Great Getaway!

We have stayed in various places on the OR coast, and this is one of the best! Location was great! Very close for beach access and access to the 804 trail was right off the beach. House was well-kept. Only thing to beware of is the backyard may not be totally secure for smaller dogs. There is a large gap under the back gate that we just blocked with the garbage and recycling cans. Very small dogs will be able to escape through the fencing as it is wire squares. Ours did not attempt. The main thing is they can go under the back porch and travel under the house and get out the front. One of our dogs DID do that. Luckily, we saw him out front and he has good recall, so avoided losing him, but it was scary to realize that and we paid close attention when they were out back from then on.
This house is very well stocked with supples for entertainment too. MANY DVDs, games, a kite, beach chairs, etc. They, very thoughtfully, had a baby gate, pet bowls, feeding mats, pet bedding, and other pet supplies. They even had some toiletries for the traveler who gets there only to realize they had forgotten something, so they don't have to immediately run to the store.
I highly recommend this beach rental...though this review may make it more difficult for us to visit in the future ☺️

Great Place To Stay

This is our second year staying here, and this house is perfect for a couple or small family! It is in a great location (just steps to the beach) and has a nice view. The house itself was immaculate and very well thought out. The owners have done a fantastic job to ensure that their guests have everything they need while they are there, including a fully stocked kitchen. We stayed a week and cooked meals most days, and we had everything we needed for preparation and food storage for leftovers. We were also very pleasantly surprised that they had installed a fence around the back yard this year, so our fur baby could go outside without his leash and we didn't have to worry. This is one of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed in, and will continue to come back.

Great rental

We showed up and was very happy with the house. It was clean and well taken care of. The trail to the beach is just a few steps right out the front door. If you go down to the beach and go to the far left side down by the rocks the 804 trail starts just up the stairs. Great place to wonder around. The next door neighbor is great We enjoyed getting to know them. The view is okay you can see the ocean but is a little blocked by other houses. Not a deal breaker being it's so easy just to walk down to the beach. Go check it out!

Pleasant stay

What a great spot!

This is about as close to the ocean with an amazing view you will ever get at this price. This house is well cared for, clean, with every amenity you could need. Beach access is immediate, and the house is on a small "lane" with no car or foot traffic to contend with. I have already recommended this house to a few friends that have well-behaved pets.

GREAT House!
It is a wonderful, warm, friendly, excellent house. I wish it were oceanfront but it was pretty near ... just steps to the steps down to the beach. We had ocean views, sunset, and moon set views too. When I took pictures from the house, it was very easy to edit out the houses on either side in front of us.

A Gem

This home was clean, comfortable, close to the beach. If you’re planning a visit, know that it’s a bit tricky to find after dark and you’ll probably need to plan on driving into Yachats. This is a great location between Yachats and Waldport, perfect for settling in and enjoying the beach. We plan on visiting again.

We have stayed in this rental house several times and have always had a good experience. It's very close to the beach (you can see the ocean from the front room window), but we had one small glitch this trip: the prop management company forgot to have the cleaners in before we arrived. The house was in relatively good condition, but the beds were not made and some of the sheets were waiting to be washed, which we took are of. The management company said they would refund a night's stay, but I don't know if that will actually happen.
We appreciate your understanding with the scheduling of cleaner mix up and we have sent you a refund. We hope you will come again as we enjoyed having you as our guest over the years.

Wonderful Beach Vacation!
Amazing location! Relaxing on the sofa looking out at the ocean through large windows and listening to the waves crash on the shore was divine. An expansive sandy beach is just steps from front door and also the beautiful coastal trail leading to Yachats and beyond. The house was nearly perfect and very comfortable. The extra long jetted bath tub was a plus! And king bed extremely cozy!! The house was generally clean, though it could use a deep cleaning. On-line the amenities included a coffee grinder and there was not one. Please either take that off the website or get one for the house. Thank you for sharing your home!

Family Get-a-way

Oregon Coast Retreat

Framed ocean view
Spent a great week in this home steps away from the long sandy beach. Although there are 2 double story houses in front of the vacation rental there is a wonderful and masterfully framed gap with an ocean view. The house is fully equipped and very spacious with a short drive to Yachats with lots to do.

Truly relaxing
Our time in Yachats could not have been better. The Spencer Street Retreat was exactly what we had hoped for and were not disappointed. We will stay there again in the future because we enjoyed it so much. From the moment we made the reservation until we checked out everything was terrific - office staff, cleaning staff (never saw them but they did a great job) and most importantly, the owner who has tastefully decorated this lovely home. The only suggestion is adding an additional towel bar in each bathroom. It was a pleasure to deal with this rental company and will recommend them.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Spencer St Retreat and going back was just like going home--but better. The house is always very clean and well-stocked. The furnishings are pleasing. The view from the living room is commanding and refreshing. The ocean is right there! The reservation process is easy to get through and things are exactly as represented by the leasing company. We hope to return for visit #3 very soon.

Lovely Retreat
My husband and I love spending time at this quiet, comfortable, home-away-from-home. The owners seem to have thought of everything we could possibly need and provided it! The front screen door needs to be repaired but otherwise the house is in great shape; far superior to any other Ocean Odyssey property we have rented.

Excellent - with a couple of small nits

Nice place. Good light. Good space. Decent beach view. Good access. The water heater needs to be sound-proofed - as it is a model meant to be placed in a garage - not inside. And that noise is compounded because the laundry room door cannot be closed (washer blocks it). One more nit. Front shower head does not fit the upper holder, making a shower in there less nice than it ought to be. Mostly this is a really good house. Just a couple of tiny issues - that are easy to fix.

Lovely home near the sea

This house was wonderful! One house lot away from the shore, but with some view from the living room still (we saw Grey Whales - their blow and the gentle arc of their backs framed in the picture window). Everything was immaculate and well organized with everything we needed. The street was quiet and the path to the beach was merely two house lots away. We were able to walk to the town and back via the 804 trail and the beach itself was wide and long and lovely (we didn't have time to explore the whole length of the beach. And of course, it was close to the other coastal beaches there as well - a short ride by car. It was a delight.

We were very happy with the house and with Odyssey's response to our calls. We loved our stay there. You need a small table with shelves in the hall bathroom where people can put their "stuff". 90% of guests will not use the shower chair so you could put a nice removable shelf/table in that space. I know you are working up a how-to sheet for the TV and DVD player--essential!

Easy access to beach with miles of pristine ocean - long walks a must along with bike riding at low tide. Home is spotless and has everything you need to make your stay wonderful.
