The perfect get-away for couples or singles in the seaside town of Yachats on the central Oregon Coast. The Chickadee can host up to 4 people at a time, with a new double bed in the bedroom, and a queen-sized hide-a-bed in the living room. The hide-a-bed has no bar in the middle; its unique construction makes it extremely comfortable. Plate-glass windows in the kitchen and living areas look directly out to sea. No matter what you are doing in the cottage, you can look out at a panoramic view of the Pacific
The Chickadee is fully equipped with everything you need for a delightful stay. From the cottage it's a 5-minute walk down the hill and across the road to the beach via public access. Or, enjoy a slightly longer walk across the bridge to the village of Yachats, long known as the "Gem of the Oregon Coast."
The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, oven, refrigerator, coffee maker (even a small coffee bean grinder!), teapot, toaster, pots and pans, bakeware, dishes, silverware and utensils.
living area holds a unique, extremely comfortable queen-size sofa sleeper. The entertainment center includes a flat-screen TV with cable, DVD player, CD player, and radio, along with a selection of DVDs and CDs for your viewing and listening pleasure. An electric fireplace provides added warmth and ambiance. The cottage provides free WIFI for our guests.
The bedroom features a double bed (new mattress and box springs as of Jan 2020) a dresser, two closets for hanging your clothes and storing a suitcase or two: and extra blankets and linens on the closet shelves.
bathroom, which opens off the bedroom, is large and roomy, with a tub/shower combination, a stacking washer and dryer (laundry soap and stain remover provided), storage for bath towels and beach towels, and a built-in vacuum and other cleaning implements.
The bathroom also contains a hair dryer for your use - in the cabinet - and a large first-aid kit under the sink.
The garden area around the cottage is filled with native Oregon plants and flowers that grow well in the Northwest's coastal areas. Roses, fuchsias, rhododendrons, azaleas, lilies and more all bloom in their season from early spring through the fall. Two graveled walking paths -- one with a small meditation bench -- provide a relaxing tour of the garden.
Settle in on the deck with a glass of wine to watch the tide, get a glimpse of our resident whale, or watch the sunset. It's hard to leave. You may not even want to try.
