Castle in the Sand is the perfect place to bring your family and friends to enjoy a fabulous Beachfront living experience! Located in the popular Bayshore community in Waldport, this home truly has something for everyone in the family. Upstairs is great for the adults to sit by the fire place or cook a fantastic meal in this fully equipped kitchen with ocean views. The dining room has a large table for the whole family to sit and enjoy meals together with more ocean views! Downstairs you will find a Large Flat Screen TV with WiFi capable Blu ray Player with tons of streaming apps including free Netflix and Pandora. There is also a pool table, board games and puzzles for all ages to enjoy. Step outside off the deck onto 6 miles of walkable sandy beaches. This home sleeps 6, is dog friendly, with WI-FI and DSL. There is a fireplace upstairs and a wood burning stove downstairs for those stormy cold nights.

Wonderful beach vacation!

Our family, five adults and one dog, had a wonderful time at castle in the sand! The house was spacious and clean, and the kitchen had almost everything you could think of, which was great for my chef son. The limited view did not bother us at all and the walk over the sand dune was not a problem, although it would be too much if you were infirm, elderly or a small child (the cut grass was not at eye level for us fortunately). All in all, we would come back!

Annual 20 Below Dog Club Visit to Waldport!

We had a wonderful stay at this delightful beach house! We had three couples, each with their well-behaved dog. The house was super clean and well appointed. The furniture was clean and inviting to sit on. Our guys had great laughs while playing pool in the very nice family room downstairs.
We had easy access to the beach and were close by to some of our other club members.
The management company was prompt and responsive, although we really had no issues to report.
We hope to come back to this house next year!

Castle In the Sand

View was nice. House was quiet as there were no neighbors present on either side. Front entrance and driveway were overgrown with weeds and blackberry bushes and the driveway was full of potholes, altogether taking up 2 of the parking places - did not look at all like the photo. Kitchen cupboards and drawers need maintenance. Many of the cooking pans were dirty. The outside side decks are angling downward and didn't feel safe. Outdoor chairs were all cracked and broken. Would have been nice to have a tide table booklet and some pamphlets on local activities and vendors. Also needs to have some kind of info on cable system - not everyone is tech saavy. Did not expect to have to provide out own paper towels/toilet paper. When spending $4,000 we expected these to be provided. At least there were adequate linens/towels. Sliding doors were hard to open. And I think that it should not be the guest's responsibility to haul the garbage can up and down the nasty driveway.

Worn but welcoming

The unit was in a great location- right on the beach. The view from
main room large windows couldn’t quite see over the sand dune to get the ocean, which was disappointing. Overgrowth of the landscaping was a little unsightly but not distracting from the experience. Overall the home worked well for our family with the two separate tv/sitting areas. Plenty of bedrooms. We felt the oregon coast welcome that we’ve grown to love and overlooked some of the shortcomings of the accommodation.
Ocean Odyssey was pleasant to work with and responsive- we will use them for a future rental.

Great weekend

The rental was great. It was clean and very comfortable and cozy. The view was not quit what we expected. The vegetation was overgrown and it was a little difficult to see the ocean. you could see it, but just barely. The ad stated that the bedroom upstairs had an ocean view, but it did not. It had a view of the neighborhood. The kitchen was well equipped, but could use a Keurig. all in all it was a great experience.

A place the doesn't disappoint

Very Spacious and accommodating layout. Would be great for larger family groups and mixed aged gatherings. With a fully furnished basement with a Large Game room with a pool table and a large upstairs common area with a large deck and beautiful views of the ocean, this property was well worth the price. Side Note - As of 4/23/23 there were enough coffee basket filters to make 2 years worth of coffee, so no need for more filters if reading this in the year 2023. LOL.

Wonderful Winter Visit to the Coast!

We stayed at Castle in the Sand, managed by Ocean Odyssey, for three nights in January. The whole experience was excellent. The home was well equipped and so perfectly cozy, it was just two of us and our doggies, so the home was HUGE. The property manager was extremely helpful with the check-in process (which was very easy). I would highly recommend this home in Waldport for your next visit to the area. The views and comfort can't be beat.

The location and space at this property was excellent, we had a few issues upon arrival at the house, but after letting the property manager know, they went above and beyond to help accommodate our families and make sure we were comfortable in our surroundings, I would book again and recommend anyone wanting to visit this area to book with this company solely on how professional and courteous the management company is.

Great Beach House

This house is spacious for a large group and was perfect for our stay. It has multiple decks and a short private walk to the beach behind the house. House was clean (bed linens could use improvement) and well stocked (kitchen could use more towels) and had plenty of seating and lounging space. We did have to use WD40 on the sliding doors to open them, as well as switch out the bbq as the first one wasn’t working properly. Overall, We would return and recommend.

Family Vacation Made Perfect

Mother’s Day /Birthday family weekend

Overall our experience was great.
The furniture, including beds, was comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped.
The weather was cool and rainy so it was nice to have the pool table for entertainment. The game selection was not great. All of them were unusable . I usually bring some with me(22 years of yearly beach house rental) but due to the description, didn’t this time. The bbq was dirty but we baked our food instead of cleaning the bbq.

Family Beach Vacation

We love that it is a very big home with a large dining table so all of our family could sit down together. Plus it was nice to be able to walk right down to the beach from the house.

Take me back!

We travel frequently and this was one of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed in. We brought our 8 children and we still had no idea what to do with all of the extra space! It is spotlessly clean and has amazing bedding and towels. Definitely take note the advice in the rents contract that you need to bring paper goods such as toilet paper and paper towels and especially garbage bags! Although there is a small grocer near by for emergencies. Otherwise they thought of everything in terms of pots and pans, dishes, linens and amenities! There were even some toys, kites and a crab pot in the garage. We will be back for sure!

Very Spacious Beach House

It was a very pleasant overall experience. We had a family reunion of sorts, with 6 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 dogs. House is right on a very broad and long beach, with dunes directly in front. Location is very convenient to town of Waldport. The only negative would be that the cleaning service was a bit spotty (master bedroom shower had not been thorougly cleaned). Overall, would still recommend the property.

Beautiful location, house left a bit to be desired

The house is in an amazing location with direct access to the beautiful beach. The house itself felt somewhat worn. The bunk beds chatter with the slightest movement. No AC which is fine but the one room with 4-5 people sleeping in it had no ceiling fan (bunk beds so that makes sense), but a plug in fan would have been a huge plus. Some of the other beds felt less than sturdy/wobbly. The house was very spacious which was nice for our large family. It was nice that there was a hose on the deck to get rid of sand and such. I guess I expected more for what we paid.

Vacathion

This home is a wonderful house that could use some work but I believe it will become wonderful in time, while we worked thru the problems I always feel the need to point them out. Hot water tank was not sufficient for 10 people, and when we arrived the king bed sheets had dog hair on them and blanket was dirty. also the inside windows were dirty and the sofa sleeper is non working. (I have high expectations for clean so I just cleaned while there) we may stay there again but only if the hot water is working better.

Highly recommended

Exceeded my expectations!
Stayed at Castle in the Sand with my partner, 90-year-old mother, and adult son and his girlfriend. And two dogs! A perfect setup for us -- master bedroom with bath on main floor great for my mother so she didn't have to go up and down stairs; two bedrooms down (we didn't use the third) and sitting area downstairs as well as upstairs so we all had our "space" when needed. Huge balcony facing the sea. We had good weather so spent a lot of time there!
Beach is easily accessible and beautiful.
We had a great time and would rent this house again.

Great property

We had a great stay at this property. It was perfect for our little family reunion! For one thing, the place is huge. You could probably fit three families in there if you needed to (we were two families of four, plus two dogs.) The layout is perfect, bedrooms in the back and downstairs, great room upstairs, overlooking the ocean. Great kitchen. We saw gray whales with their blowholes, spouting and surfacing right off the beach! My only complaint is that the dishwasher was in disrepair and wasn't cleaning the dishes properly. Overall, although spendy, this was a great property and we'd come again.

If only we could reserve sunshine

House is very functional and very comfortable. Lots of towels available--thanks. Double bed downstairs is LUMPY! Kitchen is nicely equipped but there isn't much is the way of "stocked" items (no oil, sugar, mustard, etc.) so bring ALL ingredients for your cooking. Kitchen needs a tea kettle and/or teapot and a few large serving bowls/platters. BBQ needs cleaning--we didn't use. Overall, pretty nice place.
